v4 R406
We are pleased to announce Xibo for Windows v4 R406. This release includes 3 enhancements and 3 fixes.
Enhancements
- XMR will communicate via a WebSocket when connected to a 4.4 CMS
- Allow use of the Webcam/microphone in HTML based widgets
- Chromium (CEF) web engine upgrade to 141.0.110
Issues
- Scheduled events with Weather criteria are shown for the duration of the criteria rather than a short time
- Taskbar no longer appears over player in rare circumstances
- Option to provide a locale for web content rendered through CEF
Please note
An issue with the MSI file in this release was found which prevents the player app connecting to XMR web sockets. The release has been updated on 29th Jan 2026 at 08:00 UTC to solve. A CMS bug has been logged to delay XMR web sockets until the next windows player app release. See: xibosignage/xibo#3812

- #346 SSP: non-empty ad response which does not resolve an ad should report 303
- #347 SSP: xmlns in response causes a failure to parse an ad from the response
- #341 after move mouse will left screensaver action screen still blank or white

UPDATE: 17th July 2025
XiboScreenTwo/Three have been replaced to fix an issue with the installer failing to complete. The application itself is unchanged.
