…sortType is "remote," the sort event is fired and the column states are updated, but it is up to the client to call the server with the correct request to retrieve the sorted data.

When sortType is "remote," the sort event is fired and the column states are updated, but it is up to the client to call the server with the correct request to retrieve the sorted data.
When sortType is "local", the behavior is unchanged from what it originally did.
