The JuliaHealth 2026 Bounty Program supports small, focused improvements to packages in the JuliaHealth ecosystem. The program is funded through a NumFOCUS Small Development Grant and will award six bounties of USD 750 each.
- Maintainers propose projects. JuliaHealth package maintainers open an issue in this repository with a short description of the work, a link to the corresponding issue in their package, and clear expected outcomes.
- Contributors express interest. Interested contributors comment on a proposal, briefly explaining their relevant experience and why they are a good fit for the project.
- Projects are selected. Proposals will remain open for one month. After the submission period closes, the program organizers will select six projects based on their value to JuliaHealth, scope, and feasibility.
- Maintainers select contributors. The maintainers of each selected package choose the contributor they believe is best suited to complete the work.
All dates are in 2026.
- August 12–September 8: Maintainers submit proposals and interested contributors comment on them.
- September 9–15: Program organizers select the six funded projects.
- September 16–22: Maintainers select a contributor for each project.
- September 23–October 13: Selected contributors complete the required NumFOCUS contractor agreement.
- October 14–November 24: Contributors complete the agreed work.
- November 25–December 8: Maintainers review the work and contributors make any final corrections.
To receive the bounty, the agreed deliverables must be completed and accepted by the package maintainers no later than December 8, 2026 (exact end date to be determined). After acceptance, the contributor may submit an invoice to NumFOCUS for the USD 750 bounty. Paid work may begin only after the contributor's contractor agreement has been fully executed.
