This will be needed for adaptive trial placements during experiments and currently lives in stubs in module named session.

This popular python package for Psychology experiments put a lot of thought into how to design different experiment pipelines; potentially serving as a good blueprint / inspiration.

Alternatively, Meta's AEPsych might have some useful API blueprints for experiment orchestration.
