Summary of Changes

This change educes the sensitivity in pitch control. Associated changes are to increase ground effect and update lift and drag parameters for the flaps to retain the correct pitch attitudes and N1s.

Testing instructions

This PR has already had extensive testing. The ground effect change should be re-confirmed because the energy loss during a decrab from a crosswind landing may have changed.

Testing Process:
Tried takeoffs at weights less than and greater than 510 tons, felt way better than current dev, much less sensitive.
Tried out landings at normal weights, also feels better in my opinion.
Roll response is much better, feels much less sluggish.
Pitch sensitivity is also lesser and feels nice.
Tested roll authority at full rudder inputs, I was able to turn in the opposite direction.
Finally tried takeoff and landing in around 38-40 knots of x-wind, felt great, never "ran out" of roll authority.

Date : 06/03/26

Testing Process:

  • Download project via github
  • Load into A380X in MSFS24
  • perform multiple touch-and-goes under wind calm conditions with load factor of about 90%
  • same procedure as in step 3, with about 40kts right x-wind
  • especially in windy conditions, roll is much easier and intuitive
  • pitch improved during flare, no auto-rotation on takeoff

This PR has been changed to address only the pitch axis. Pitch response has already been tested and confirmed, but the ground effect values should be checked again since the energy loss during decrab may or may not be the same.

As discussed on Discord, roll is in the focus of this PR, but issues in above mentioned report do remain.
Pitch sensitivity greatly improved, especially no more returning to the previous pitch when giving abrupt pitch input.

Testing Results:
Passed

Negatives:
Roll ability remains restricted with rudder input, but out of scope of this PR.

Thanks for testing and noticing that I had inadvertently left the reference to fixing #10545, which this PR no longer addresses. I have removed that reference.

Just added an "s" to load alleviation transfer(s) are not currently simulated" in line 575.
