Hi there 👋 I'm Quentin Mayo

ABC — Always Be Coding

I'm a dad, security engineer, builder, and someone constantly trying to figure things out.

I write at quentinmayo.com, where I share thoughts on security, AI-assisted development, cloud, software engineering, and the changing economics of building software.

Thoughts of an Engineer

The world of coding has changed.

Technical skill still matters, but now compute, tokens, tooling, and iteration speed matter too. AI has become a real force multiplier for building, testing, prototyping, and exploring ideas faster than before.

For a long time, much of my work lived behind company GitHub organizations. That work mattered, but it also meant my personal GitHub did not really reflect how much I was building, learning, and experimenting. That honestly sucked.

This account is part of changing that.

I’m using this space to build more openly, experiment more publicly, and turn ideas into code — even when they are rough, incomplete, or still forming.

What You'll Find Here

You’ll find a mix of:

  • Security tooling and experiments
  • Cloud and infrastructure concepts
  • AI-assisted development projects
  • Developer workflow tools
  • Home-lab ideas
  • Rapid prototypes
  • Half-finished ideas that may eventually become real products
  • Projects built simply because I wanted to understand something better

Some repositories are polished. Others are intentionally rough.

A lot of what I build comes from the same themes I write about on my blog: security by design, zero trust, application security, cloud automation, AI agents, developer productivity, and the idea that engineers now have more leverage than ever to build the tools they need.

Security Note

I do care about security and engineering quality.

That said, many of these projects move fast. Some are experiments. Some are prototypes. Some are things I built to test an idea or explore a workflow.

Not everything here is production-ready, fully audited, hardened, or maintained.

Use anything in these repositories at your own risk.
