Helsinki snowplows visualised

The snowplow GPS data is collected by Stara. The API used is part of Helsinki Open Data project. Data is collected only from a small portion of all vehicles.

I'm using Sass with Compass. You can learn Sass at Codeschool). Front-end is done with Lo-dash and jQuery. Data comes from the Aura-API.

How to

gem install compass (Sass 3.4.9 and Compass 1.0.1 tested)
compass watch .
python -m SimpleHTTPServer 8000 / open index.html in a browser
