Steps to getting started to racing

One-time preparations

1. You need to first create an account on racetime, and you need to connect your twitch account. Streaming is required to join in the raceroom, however you may always choose to async the race on your own.
2. Go to ⁠Channels & Roles channel that is located at the top of the discord and react to add the roles you would like. Season 3 is for official tournaments and the weekly races. S3 racing is for pick up or friendly races that anyone may offer and join. This will allow you to be pinged when people are proposing a race
3. Make sure you are familiar with the rules of the category you are racing, including the glitchless ruleset.

Race Day

1. When someone proposes a race that you want to join, you will see them post a raceroom. Click the link, and then hit the join button.
2. Racetime seeds will mostly be generated through the racetime bot, generally 15 minutes before the start of the race. The Racecar bot will post a link in the discord and update the information on the racetime to include the link to the seed. Once you visit the seed link, you can hit the button which says "Download Seed". MAKE SURE IT SAYS "DOWNLOAD SEED" BEFORE CLICKING.
3. Go live and make sure the hash matches what is posted in the channel, or in the raceroom title (if using the bot).
4. When you have everything ready, and racetime detects you are live, you then hit the ready button.

The Race

1. Once everyone is ready, the race starts! There is a 15 second countdown before it starts.
2. Good luck and have fun in the race!
3. If you wish to forfeit the race for any reason, click the button which says forfeit.
4. When you are finished, make sure to hit the done button in the raceroom.

Post-race etiquette

1. If you want to discuss the race, go to ⁠race-spoilers channel, and find the race you just completed! Each race has their own post, and you can add your comments to the race post!

Whilst you're allowed to post about the race elsewhere in the context of bug reports, please ensure that any information that's about the seed in particular is put into spoiler tags by surrounding the message in double pipe characters: ||text||.
