Features

  • New Jokers
    • Conjoined Joker: While in a PvP Blind gain X1 Mult for every Hand your Nemesis has left (Max X5 Mult)
    • Magnet: After 2 rounds, sell this card to Copy your Nemesis' highest sell cost Joker (Currently does not copy joker states)
    • Penny Pincher: At the start of the shop, gain $1 for every $3 your Nemesis spent last shop
    • Pizza: +6 Discards for all players, -1 Discard when any player selects a Blind, Eaten when your Nemesis skips a blind
    • Taxes: When your Nemesis sells a Joker gain +5 Mult
    • Pacifist: X10 Mult while not in a PvP Blind
  • Reworked Jokers:
    • SPEEDRUN: If you reach a PvP Blind before your Nemesis, create a random Spectral card
    • Lets Go Gambling: 1 in 4 chance for X4 Mult and $10, 1 in 8 chance to give your Nemesis $5
    • Defensive Joker: +125 Chips for every life less than your Nemesis
  • Hanging Bad has been removed
  • Showdown has been removed along with the gamemode selection screen, in it's place you will now see the Ruleset selection screen. This will allow you to change how you want to play Multiplayer, here are the options:
    • Standard: Includes changes to the base game that are designed to make the Multiplayer meta more interesting, right now those changes are:
      • Hanging Chad now retriggers the first two played cards once
      • Justice is banned (the tarot card)
      • Glass cards give X1.5
    • Vanilla: Normal Balatro with no Multiplayer Jokers by default.
    • Badlatro: A special weekly ruleset that the community liked, so we are bringing it back permanently. Includes 43 banned cards and 5 banned tags.
  • Lobby Info: There is a new button below the Run Info and Options buttons in-game that will display both player's lives, mods list, and highest scoring hand, this will also display players max hands and max discards in the future.
  • Ante Timer: After readying up for a PvP blind players can activate an ante timer. This timer is 120 seconds long + 120 seconds for every time the activating player skipped before activating it. If the timer reaches 0 for the other player before they ready up for the PvP Blind they will lose a life. In the future this will also force the other player into the PvP Blind as well. Currently this time is not adjustable but it will be a lobby option soon.
  • Next Card Display: The next card in your deck will now show above your deck. This does not introduce any new information as you could always use the "Misprint Tech" to learn the next card in your deck. This is disable-able in Multiplayer's config.

Bug Fixes

  • Skip Off no longer takes hand size away from you when you sell it
  • Phantom cards no longer increase your the amount of joker slots you have
  • Players hands are now updated at the start of the PvP Blind (in case they have a Burglar or Skip Off)

  • Created a new card area for shared jokers (This is where Phantom jokers will go now)
    • This should fix a lot of issues with other cards messing with Phantom cards, but if there are more modded cards that can still mess with Phantom cards please let me know
  • Fixed an issue where you would crash if you are on latest smods and finish a boss blind
  • Added conflicts with incompatible versions of SystemClock

Content Changes

  • Hanging Bad can't be sold in PvP blinds anymore
  • Defensive Joker buffed [60 -> 120]
  • Attrition default lives changed back to 4
  • Attrition no longer has a PvP blind on ante 1
  • Updated various localizations
  • Added detection for the Multiplayer mod not loading correctly

Fixes

  • Fixed issues where the deck text in the lobby was not updating properly
  • Fixed Abstract Joker (it is back in Multiplayer)
  • Fixed Asteroid sprite sizing
  • Fixed an issue where a regular Hanging Bad will be deleted when your opponent sells their Hanging Bad (instead of the Phantom copy)
  • Fixed Perishable and Rental stickers not working
  • Fixed Lets Go Gambling not scaling

Other

I have added an "Unstuck" button to the pause menu of the game, there are two options in there for two rare bugs.

  • There is a bug where you get stuck in a booster pack with no way to get out of it, if this happens you can select Unstuck and then "Stuck in Booster Pack" to get out.
  • There is also a bug where your opponent will enter the boss blind but you won't, if this happens you can select Unstuck and then "Stuck Outside PvP" to enter the PvP blind (make sure you press the ready button before you do this)
    Using these buttons when not necessary can result in bans from attrition queue, make sure to confirm with the person you are playing with before you use them.
    The reason we are adding these buttons instead of trying to fix the bugs is because they are very difficult to recreate, therefore very difficult to fix, and this will be the last update before 1.0 which is a rework of the mod, which means these bugs may get fixed during that process. If these bugs re-appear in 1.0 they will get properly investigated.

  • Allows you to use Decks and Stakes in Multiplayer
  • Added 5 Multiplayer Jokers and 1 Multiplayer Planet
  • Added a new edition called "Phatom", this edition is not naturally occuring and only appears on cards when those cards are controlled by your opponent. Phantom is equivalent to Eternal + Negative and a phantom joker will be created when your opponent has a joker that effects your game as well. Right now this is only used with the "Hanging Bad" joker, when one person has Hanging Bad, the other player will get a phantom Hanging Bad so they are aware of the effect.
  • Added card credits using the credit system designed by Cryptid (shoutout to the Crypid devs)
  • Abstract Joker is temporarily disabled while we figure out issues with it and Phantom jokers
