How to render predefined indoor rooms in Genesis?

Hi everyone,

I’m relatively new to simulators in the embodied AI field, and I’ve recently started exploring Genesis, which seems like a lightweight and accessible environment to get familiar with. However, I’m having some trouble figuring out how to render predefined indoor scenes—such as the rooms shown in the official demos.

Does anyone happen to be familiar with this?

Do I need to download any additional assets, or is there a simple way to load those scenes that I might have missed?

Any guidance or pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

As somebody who imports CAD meshes for simulation...

filename = "scenes/interior_mesh_name.gltf" #or your preferred format
gs.init()
    # Create a simulation scene
    scene = gs.Scene(
        sim_options=gs.options.SimOptions(dt=0.02, substeps=2), show_viewer=False
    )
    gs.morphs.Mesh(file=filename, pos=(0,0,1)) # specify pos if necessary)

    scene.build()

Thanks for your help! Can you also recommend some good resources where you usually download those assets from? I tried this one: https://www.fab.com/listings/fb119fd8-1387-4193-b103-5004416a7ba1, but seems that it fails to render ...

Go onto huggingface.com and download from there under the "3d" tag, plenty of datasets there.

note: there are generally predefined simulators for indoor environments. Take a look at a collection of references I've done for something similar. More than half are indoor envs.:
