User Notes

In this release, Helios delivers and interface and Toolbox components for the new C-130J Hercules module in DCS World. Additionally there are new modes for several controls, a few alterations to templates for other aircraft, and finally fixes for a bunch of issues raised against Helios. Thanks as always to @MadKreator37 for is considerable contributions which in this release include artwork for Hercules gauges and lots of testing.

[!NOTE] For DCS World users, this release has made several changes to HeliosExport16.lua with the result that Control Center Preflight Check will issue the message

The DCS export script at '%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS\Scripts\Helios\HeliosExport16.lua does not match configuration

and that a "DCS Setup" in one of the DCS interfaces in Profile Editor will need to be pressed. Similarly, Profile Editor will highlight that there is a file mismatch until "DCS Setup" in one of the DCS interfaces has been pressed to resolve the mismatch. Profile Editor issues the message

Mirage F-1 for DCS World

1. The Mirage F1 developers have added a named viewport for the RWR called "ALR300\ so alterations have been made to the viewport template for the F1 RWR. The now redundant patch for the ALR300 has been removed. This addresses the numerous reports relating to the ALR300 patch no longer applying. #901 @BlueFinBima

F-4E Phantom II for DCS World

1. Heatblur, the developers of this module, has provided named exports for all of the viewports, with the result that alterations have been made to the Viewport Templates to use the Heatblur names. Mirage 2000C for DCS World

1. A cosmetic change has been made to the Backup ADI for this aircraft. #897 @BlueFinBima
   

F/A-18C Hornet for DCS World

1. Restoration of the alternate night-time images for the 2D standby ADI which had been removed in the previous release. #896 @BlueFinBima
2. Accuracy improvements for the IFEI Nozzle needles. Previously the position was estimated using Fuel Flow, however in this release their position is derived via a more accurate method. Advanced users please note that arguments 4019 and 4020 which were previously used for the nozzle positions have been retired. Users of the autobinding IFEI from the toolbox should notice no difference in operation other than the needle positions better match the needles of the in-cockpit version. All users of the F/A-18C interface will need to perform a "DCS Setup" in profile editor. @BlueFinBima

CH-47F Chinook for DCS World

1. Delivers new patches #894 following changes to files shipped by ED. The center MFCD and the Pilot's MFCD's no longer need patches. The SFDs viewports have been renamed to "LEFT_SFD" (copilot) and "RIGHT_SFD" (pilot) and the Viewport Templates have been updated accordingly. @BlueFinBima
2. Add the status of the external doors to the interface. @BlueFinBima

A-10C II for DCS World

1. Fix for the clear screen issue on the A-10C II ARC-210. Users will need to re-add the radio to profiles in order for the new bindings to be created. @BlueFinBima

F-16C for DCS World

1. Changes made to the F-16C_50 interface and Lua driver to support the Fuel Flow amount as a single value. #899 @BlueFinBima
   

Changes to Controls

1. A new 4 position toggle switch has been introduced. This has three positions at 120 degrees from each other, and a center position. @BlueFinBima

   

2. Removed the "No Effects" Layout option in Profile Editor for special controls where is makes no sense to have them. @BlueFinBima

3. First / Last Position Released output bindings added to the Rotary Switch control to allow implementation of Rotary Switches which have a momentary First / Last position. @BlueFinBima

   

4. Enhancement to the Clickable Potentiometer and Clickable Encoder controls to allow the inner "Click" as if it were a pushbutton or a toggle switch. @BlueFinBima

7. The "Missing Image" image has been changed from the old black cross on a red background to have words, and converted to xaml to improve scaling.

This release delivers an interface for the DCS DH98 Mosquito FB Mk. VI as well as many auto-binding gauges and a Lever Panel. There is fix for the erroneous "Not All Patches Have Been Installed" pop-up which can sometimes appear when DCS Patches are applied. There is a new version of the Three-Way Toggle which has the ability to block movement into a switch position, and finally the limit on the Screen Replicator Controls refresh frequency has been raised from 10Hz to 60Hz, however higher refresh rates will impact performance.

User Notes

This HotFix addresses a problem with the Reset Monitors function in Profile Editor. This problem is described in #847. This fix regresses some aspects of the "Lock Aspect" functionality and it is anticipated that this will be restored in a future Helios release.
This release is generally fixing bugs, however there are a number of functional changes to controls. Finally, this release ships viewport patches and templates for the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior.
