I've tried extending the Authentcation model so that it can handle multiple users and allowing to include integration with another source (i.e. without hardcoding all the credentials in the project) and came up with this version.
In my case I've successfully integrated it with LDAP.
In terms of the exact implementation I've tried preserving the current default version.
Note: my PR contains a breaking change.
