Alerts
During gameplay, FlightAssistant performs a variety of safety and consistency checks. If a check fails, an alert is triggered.
When an alert is triggered, it will appear either on the Alert Display or below the crosshair, accompanied by a sound.
Alerts, their visibility, and their sound volume are fully configurable. Most alerts can be disabled or set to display visually only if they feel intrusive.
Alerts can be temporarily hidden or shown via keybinds
(default: Numpad 0 to hide, Numpad . to show).
Below is a list of alerts in alphabetical order (with some grouped exceptions), sorted by category. Each entry includes an explanation and, where applicable, recommended actions.
Full text: ALERT SYS FAULT (SOME ALERTS LOST)
Appears when a fault occurs inside the alert system itself. Details are available in the log.
This issue may sometimes be resolved by resetting the Alert Computer.
There are two variations of this alert:
AUTO FLT AP OFF
Appears when the autopilot is intentionally disconnected by the player. This alert is purely informational and disappears after 3 seconds.
-
AUTO FLT AP OFF -AP DISC KEY: PUSH TO SILENCE
Triggered when the autopilot disconnects due to:
- Significant manual control inputs
- Loss of flight protections (see
F/CTL PROTECT LOST) - Entering an unloaded chunk
- An Auto Flight Computer fault (see
AUTO FLT SYS FAULT)
The alert remains active and audible until:
- The Autopilot Disconnect keybind is pressed
- The Global Automation Override keybind is held
- The autopilot is re-enabled
Full text: AUTO FLT A/THR OFF
Appears when autothrust disconnects due to:
- Loss of flight protections (
F/CTL PROTECT LOST) - Entering an unloaded chunk
- Auto Flight Computer fault (
AUTO FLT SYS FAULT)
The alert remains until autothrust is re-enabled or the player makes a manual thrust input.
Full text: AUTO FLT HDG CTL FAULT
Appears when the Heading Computer encounters a fault and can no longer control heading.
The horizontal flight director becomes stuck and should not be followed.
The alert clears when the Heading Computer is reset, but may recur.
Full text: AUTO FLT PITCH CTL FAULT
Appears when the Pitch Computer encounters a fault and can no longer control pitch.
The vertical flight director becomes stuck; no automations are available while the fault persists.
The alert clears when the Pitch Computer is reset, but may recur.
Full text: AUTO FLT ROLL CTL FAULT
Appears when the Roll Computer encounters a fault and can no longer control camera roll.
If a roll mod affects flight physics, autopilot performance may degrade.
The alert clears when the Roll Computer is reset, but may recur.
Full text: AUTO FLT SYS FAULT
Appears when the Auto Flight Computer encounters a fault.
Autopilot and autothrust are disconnected, but flight protections remain available.
Clears after resetting the Auto Flight Computer (may reappear).
Full text: ELYTRA CRIT DURABILITY
Appears when estimated remaining flying time is < 30 seconds.
Full text: ELYTRA LOW DURABILITY
Appears when estimated remaining flying time is < 90 seconds (1:30).
Full text: ELYTRA STATUS FAULT
Appears when the Elytra Status Computer encounters a fault.
While active:
- Elytra durability is not shown
- Durability alerts are unavailable
- Automatic Elytra deployment is unavailable
Clears after resetting the Elytra Status Computer (may reappear).
Full text: FRWK MAIN HAND EXPLOSIVE
Appears when the firework(s) held in the main hand are explosive.
Full text: FRWK OFF HAND EXPLOSIVE
Appears when the firework(s) held in the offhand are explosive.
Full text: FRWK NO RESPONSE
Appears when a firework is used (manually or via automation) but fails to provide a boost within 1.5 seconds.
Clears once a firework successfully boosts the player.
Full text: FRWK SLOW RESPONSE
Appears when the average firework response time exceeds 0.5 seconds.
Full text: FRWK SYS FAULT
Appears when the Firework Computer encounters a fault.
Firework protections are unavailable, and fireworks cannot be used as a thrust source for automation.
Clears after reset (may reappear).
Full text:
F/CTL PITCH LIMIT FAULT
-AUTOMATION OVERRIDE: USE
Appears when the Pitch Computer can no longer compute or enforce pitch limits.
In some cases, pitch limits may stop updating but remain enforced, severely restricting maneuverability.
Use the Global Automation Override keybind until the issue is resolved.
Clears after resetting the Pitch Computer (may reappear).
Full text:
F/CTL PROTECT LOST
-AIR DATA: OFF THEN ON
-PITCH SYS: OFF THEN ON
-PROT SYS: OFF THEN ON
MAX PITCH: 45* UP
MIN PITCH: 35* DOWN
MANEUVER WITH CARE
Appears when any of the following systems are disabled or faulted:
- Air Data Computer
- Pitch Computer
- Flight Protections Computer
Pitch protections are fully unavailable.
Recommended limits:
- Max positive pitch: 45° (avoids stalls)
- Max negative pitch: -35° (avoids hazardous descent rates)
Clears once all related computers are enabled and not faulted.
Full text:
F/PLAN ARRIVAL ELEV DISAGREE
G/S UNRELIABLE
-AUTOPILOT: DO NOT USE
Appears when the entered arrival elevation does not match the actual highest terrain elevation at the arrival coordinates.
The glide slope becomes unreliable, and the autopilot will follow the incorrect slope in G/S mode.
Only visual landings are considered safe.
Clears after entering the correct arrival elevation or when actual elevation cannot be determined.
Full text: F/PLAN DEPART ELEV DISAGREE
Appears when the entered departure elevation does not match actual terrain elevation at departure coordinates.
Clears after entering the correct departure elevation or when elevation cannot be determined
Full text: F/PLAN DESCENT TOO STEEP
Appears when the flight plan contains a descent steeper than 35 degrees.
Full text: F/PLAN OBSTACLES ON PATH
Appears when obstacles are detected along the planned route.
Full text: F/PLAN SYS FAULT
Appears when the Flight Plan Computer encounters a fault.
While active:
- Automatic waypoint progression is disabled
- Automatic takeoff, landing, and go-around are unavailable
- Time-to-waypoint is not calculated
Clears after reset (may reappear).
Two variations exist:
-
Caution (slow blink, quieter "GLIDE SLOPE" voice)
Appears when descending > 5 blocks below the glide slope. -
Warning (fast blink, loud "GLIDE SLOPE" voice)
Appears when:- The player is closer to the ground than to the glide slope, or
- Below minimums and > 2.5 blocks below the glide slope.
Appears when the player begins descending during takeoff or go-around.
Full text: GPWS FAULT
Appears when the Ground Proximity Computer encounters a fault.
Ground proximity alerts and radar altitude calculation are unavailable.
