Note

Massive upstream sync: refreshes rosdep mappings for many packages/OSes, adds extensive Python (pip/py3) keys and macOS Homebrew entries, and updates the ROS PGP public key.

  • rosdep database (multi-OS/platform):
    • Large refresh of package mappings (Debian/Ubuntu/RHEL/Fedora/openSUSE/Arch/Gentoo/NixOS/OpenEmbedded/macOS), adding many new keys (e.g., Gazebo/Ignition/GZ, Qt5/Qt6, Boost, OpenCV, TensorFlow/ONNX, LCM, NLopt, PCL, Vulkan, Wayland, etc.) and updating versions/package names.
    • Numerous fixes/normalizations (t64 transitions, renamed packages, dev/runtime splits, per-distro overrides) and new rhel/opensuse entries.
  • Python rules:
    • Major expansion and modernization of python.yaml to Python 3: adds many pip-backed keys and distro packages (Flask/FastAPI/GRPC/NumPy/Pandas/Sklearn/Matplotlib/Open3D/ROS tools, etc.), new cloud/ML/vision stacks, and per-distro fallbacks.
  • macOS Homebrew:
    • Adds/updates Homebrew mappings (e.g., Bullet extras, Catch2, Cython3, FCL, LMDB, PCL subcomponents, libedit, castxml, etc.).
  • Security:
    • Updates ros.asc PGP public key block/metadata.
