Mobile usage

OLF provides access to part of its features through a mobile browser interface. After recognizing a mobile device a touch-interaction friendly and sparse interface is loaded that allows for a simple search. The simple search box features auto complete and therefore allows for locating sample information quickly. It is possible to combine the search box with a barcode scanner by installing a 3rd party app like Barcode Scanner, which allows you to scan a previously entered barcode to the device's clipboard. Subsequently, the barcode can be pasted to the simple search box, which will find the corresponding sample.

On top of basic information a few more features are available. For instance, if a cell-line data instance is opened, medium additives can be added or removed, as well as projects. File attachments can be downloaded to the device and most importantly the physical location of a sample can be found. It is also possible to remove a sample from virtual storage. This is especially useful since this step can easily be forgotten after working with the sample for a while without any access to a computer terminal.
