Beta 2.4.0 is here for Minecraft 1.21.1!

This update is the final major content update for 1.21.x versions, but we will fix any bugs that are found for the foreseeable future, and will port the additions through the remaining 1.21.x versions.

NOTE: This update fixes issues with worldgen and regenerating the dimension will make content easier to access and prevent ugly chunk seams/biome issues. You don't NEED to but I highly recommend it!!!

New Gameplay Changes

  • Added a new surface structure, the "Remains", comprised of several ruined buildings surrounded by suspicious dirt that can be brushed to discover new artifacts
  • Added the "Circlet of Knowledge", a new head armor piece that preserves player XP on death, storing it in the circlet
    • These can be found in Remains structures
  • Added Calcite Decorated Pots and Calcite Flower Pots
    • Calcite Decorated Pots are crafted by including a block of calcite in the center of the sherds, and using calcite blocks in place of bricks for blank sides
    • All vanilla Sherds are supported
    • Two new Paradise exclusive Sherds can be found in the Remains and Palace and can be used in normal or calcite Decorated Pots
  • Added a new dungeon structure, the "Palace", decorated lavishly but strangely quiet.
    • The statues throughout the structure may not take kindly to intruders...
  • Added the "Quint", a new passive mob that spawns rarely in the world, in Palaces, and when killing an Enlightened Envoy
    • Quints are able to enlighten nearby Envoys to empower them
  • Added the "Calcified Sentinel", a new neutral/hostile mob that spawns in Olvite Palaces.
    • Quints can enlighten them, and killing one that has been animated has a chance to drop it's sword, the Bloomed Blade
  • Added the "Bloomed Blade", a new weapon that gets stronger the more unique mobs have been slain
  • Added a new Biome, the "Calcite Craglands" which generates with a new "Menth" wood type, replacing Orange wood
    • Any Orange that existed in your world before the upgrade will become Aurel, sorry if your build is ruined by the change
  • Added "Warded Jar" items crafted with Tinted Glass that allows for picking up Quints to transport them
    • Warded Jars can also be used to pick up Allays
  • A craftable Green Cloud block allows for directional entity launching
  • Added Olvite Pressure Plates which only detect players
  • Added 3 new craftable food items
  • Added several new building blocks
  • Added Calcite as a stone variant which generates in Paradise

QOL Changes

  • The dimension scale is now 1:1 instead of 1:10
  • Moas are now easier to breed, using sweet items instead of oranges
  • Aurel Buckets can now be used to pick up Powder Snow
  • Brushes can be crafted with Paradise materials
  • Improved enlightenment effects on Envoys and Calcified Sentinels
  • Chests in Vault structures have fewer low-value items, reducing inventory clutter when looting the structure, especially with mods that allow each player to collect loot
  • Added new Advancement for harvesting a Popom, missed in 2.3.x
  • Added new Advancements for this update's additions

Compatibility

  • Paradise Lost's wood and stone blocks support Every Compat
  • Fixed structures in certain other mods getting discarded due to a mixin oversight
  • Fixed incompatibility with Sinytra Connector that prevented launching the game. A separate JAR has been uploaded that can be used to play Paradise Lost on NeoForge via Sinytra Connector.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed layered biomes in Paradise which could cause strange biome overlap and often caused /locate to behave unreliably
  • Moas and Popoms now can spawn on frozen grass in Paradise's cold biomes
  • Aurel Buckets now behave correctly when used in dispensers
  • Aurel Milk Buckets no longer infinitely slurp
