Seems to be fine AFAICT, but I'm not sure if the tests ran properly....

I don't know if this is a temporary issue, but apparently bsem isn't even running on my system right now for whatever odd reason. But I can't imagine how my changes would've affected that.

Alarmingly, even if I checkout a much earlier commit far before these particular changes, I still can't get bsem working right now.

I have to switch to something else right now, but perhaps this initial proposal might be helpful.

The tests are working locally for me at the moment, though I notice that something is irritating the github action. I will have to look at it some more. If you have the cmdstan option set on your machine, I could imagine that some test might fail. This is because the tests currently focus heavily on the default target = "stan" (target = "cmdstan" has been undocumented up to now). For this reason, I will comment out the suggestion about options(blavaan.target = "cmdstan") until I can deal with the tests.
