Solutions Building Block Repository

Peter Klement edited this page Nov 19, 2025 · 3 revisions

The Solution Building Block Repository maps the functional Architecture Building Blocks (MDA concept: PIM) of the Sustainability Reference Architecture to specific technology products. The intention is to have multiple Solution Building Blocks (SBBs) for each Architecture Building Block (SBB), so organizations have a set of alternatives to evaluate when implementing a specific functionality. We do NOT claim to have all SBBs in the repository that are available on the market. The SBBs are contributed by the organizations using the Sustainability Reference Architecture to implement the use cases of the Sustainable Supply Chain Framework (SSCF). So when you see only one or "too few" SBBs in the repository please do some market research either using a market research firm, a genAI tools or you favorite search engine.

The Solution Building Block Repository is structure by ABBs. For each SBB we capture the following information:

  • Produkt name
  • Vendor
  • Link to the product/vendor website
  • (Reference implementation/SBB user)
  • (Reference architecture/SSCF contributors)

We will not provide a description, as those will be changed by the vendor and we don't want to have the need to update the product description here in our Wiki. A certain risk are the links to the products/vendors of course, so if you encounter a 404 or the URL does not not link anymore the the product, please let us know or even update the link yourself. This is a community project, so we hope you are not only consuming, but also contributing, at least a little bit :) Thanks a lot!

The SBBs are based on the ABBs and the ABBs are based on the use cases in the SSCF. If there are reference implementations of the use case and therefore the associated ABBs, you will see the SBBs here, if the owner of the reference implementation has shared this information with the our initiative. We also offer product vendors or the SSCF community the opportunity to add to the repository.

In the beta version (v 0.5) of the SSCF, the SBBR will be empty, as we are still building the content for version 1.0.
