What is PACE?

PACE is a design framework for guide-first interfaces where AI leads users through conversation rather than traditional navigation.

Four Principles:

  1. Proactive - Anticipates needs and offers next steps
  2. Adaptive - Matches user expertise and adjusts communication
  3. Contextual - Remembers conversation and synthesizes understanding
  4. Efficient - Concise, actionable, respects user's time

Key Innovation: The Executive Summary Pattern - a visible display showing what the AI guide has learned in real-time, transforming "black box AI" into transparent collaboration.
