So I was thinking about my wiring circuit setup and realized that this new application spat out by ChatGPT likely changed the pin configuration from the downloader (which scematic I used to wire this up). This would lead to potentially wrong wiring, thus the initial crash I experienced repeatedly. Turns out that, yes, I did not have it wired to the newest pins.
Table 1. Pin out for Flasher
| P25D80SH Pin | Resistor Dividor Required | Arduino Uno Pin |
|---|---|---|
| SO | no | 12 |
| CS | yes | 10 |
| SCLK | yes | 13 |
| SI | yes | 11 |
| VCC/WP/HOLD | no | 3.3V |
| GND | no | GND |
After fixing this, the flasher did not immediately crash like usual. Instead, it started flashing data! The first attempt failed halfway through, likely due to my shoddy circuit design.
Second attempt said it completed with no errors! I had used a Pokey Little Puppy cartridge with the Big Shark Little Shark Baby Shark audio, modified in its second slide to incorporate the test music.
I plug it into the projector, it cycles like usual. It finds its first frame. I press play. The light comes on and it plays both the BSLSBS audio and its lights while shining a bright light through a Pokey Little Puppy frame 1!! It worked!
The celebration soon came to a close, however, when the frame changed to Region 2. The light came on and a terrible garbled noise was emitted along with the back light seizing rapidly between multiple colours before actually crashing and restarting the projector anew. It began as if you had just plugged the cartridge in again, and started spinning the carousel to look for the first frame. Just in case, I ran it again. Same result.
I successfully played BSLSBS audio and lights on a Pokey Little Puppy cartridge.
I have yet to play custom audio properly on any cartridge.
Completely write gold standard BSLSBS onto Pokey Little Puppy in total (Testing if its the flashing process as opposed to the data itself).
