Seems like the projector controller is not standard -- may be proprietary. Chip numbers are listed in the photo uploaded in projector_board_chips.jpg. I must gather a plan of attack in order to figure out what the functions of the cartridge formats are. I will have to procedurally compare the chip dumps. Luckily, the adapter from the projector guts can be easily rewired to the arduino, so I will dump my other 6 books (and redump the 11_chip from my daughter's good copy). Now I don't have to crack open a cartridge to interact with it. I will have to make a huge spreadsheet for the listing of each deviant region, as well as low-entropy regions of each chip comparatively. I will also start to make a "template" hex code that will be the basis for a whole new story. I also had the idea to take two good dumps and swap inject one variable region into the other and play them -- then see what aspects of the injected cartridge data reveals itself. This means I will have to be familiar with the runtime events of each cartridge to effectively isolate the functions of each region of bytes. Its a lot of work, but I can slowly trudge through it.
