Emulator

Copied from HP Community

There is no manual for the emulator itself (as you probably noticed, under Help only the manual for the calculator is available).

File

  • Save: saves the state of the emualtor and any keyed-in programs (asks for a name).
  • Load: prompts to load any previously saved emulator state (including programs).
  • Fast Save: creates a saved state of the emulator with default name "FastSave"
  • Fast Load: only appears if a FastSave exists, loads the existing FastSave
  • Check for Update: checks some HP server for emulator updates.
  • Exit: exits emulator

Edit

  • Copy Screen: does a bitmap capture of the calculator screen
  • Reset Calculator: does nothing = broken. In an older emulator that I have it resets the emulator similar to RESET on the back of the real calculator.

Tool

Macros

  • Records or re-plays a set of keystrokes.
  • Select Skin: Selects various displays for the calculator.
  • Options: Skin and Macro Enabled tick boxes determines whether Macros or Select Skin is available on the Tool menu.

In the Macro menu, select New and give a name and description, then press required keys. When finished, go to Macros again and you will be prompted to stop recording. The macro is now visible in the Macro menu, select Play and the keystrokes will be processed.

HP.com

  • Opens your internet browser for the HP website.

Help

  • HP 35S Help: opens the calculator manual in PDF reader. The calculator manual provided with the emualtor is a condensed version. The full manual is available here.
  • Help language: selects the language version of the calculator manual
  • About: provides details of the emulator.
