It is possible to categorise and filter songs based on their type.
Meelo supports the following song types:
- Original
- Live
- Acoustic
- Remix
- Instrumental
- A Cappella
- Edit
- Of the original version.
- If the song is an edit of a remix, it will be categorised as 'Remix'
- Clean
- Demo
- Medley
- Non-Music (e.g. Interviews)
Meelo can automatically detect the type of songs based on their name.
The detection algorithm is quite naive and leverages commonly-used keyword. For example:
-
Sorry (Remix)would be typed as Remix -
Hung Up (Live)would be recognized as a Live rendition -
Let Down Your Guard (Rough Mix)would be defined as Demo -
Toxic (Instrumental)would be an Instrumental -
Sound of the Underground (Instrumental Break Down Mix)would be a Remix
You can find the detection algorithm here.
Users with the admin role can manually set the type of a song.
To do so, open the song's context menu and tap 'Change Song Type'.
