Palm Tree
A Palm Tree (previously Coconut Trees) is a variant of tree grown from palm saplings, and used for growing and obtaining Coconuts.
Palm Tree trunks are made of Palm/Jungle logs⁽¹⁾, and spawn 5 - 7 blocks tall, sometimes feature horizontal bending similar to Acacia trees. Unlike Acacia, this bending is more likely to occur around the middle up on the tree, and can only move up to two block out.
The canopy of Palm Trees is always the same size, with a thin, hanging layer of coconut leaves, and four flowering coconut leaves wrapping around the top trunk log.
Palm Trees generate on Beaches, always on sand.
Items obtained from Palm Trees:
- Coconuts (grown from flowering coconut leaves, harvestable by hand or any non-tool or non-sword)
- Coconut Leaves (harvested using shears or a Silk Touch enchanted tool)
- Flowering Coconut Leaves (non-harvestable, generates at the top leaves, nearest to the trunk)
- Cracked Coconuts (harvested from a coconut using any non-hoe tool or sword, or from a coconut falling >=6 blocks)
- Palm/Jungle Logs (harvested by hand or with a tool)⁽¹⁾
- Palm/Jungle Planks (crafted from logs)
Palm Saplings can be planted on any blocks of a sand or dirt material, such as gravel or grass blocks.
- In previous versions of the mod, palm trees were simply called coconut trees, but were re-named when palm logs were created. This was so the trees, and the wood, could possibly be expanded upon or reused for other purposes.
