Technical WG
jk: mostly working on the Confluence to github wiki conversion; also, the Dutch National Library is interested in exploring the technical feasibility of running a replica of the ARK resolver; pointed them to the github code repo to try out the code
jc: it would be great for the CDL team to be involved when it comes to having organizational dependencies; we want to be involved in future partnership discussions and coordination mp: before any partnership can be done, need an assessment, a cost benefit analysis, and see if other institutions are interested -
NAAN WG
jk: given that github (GH) project board is going away Aug 23 and the rate of NAAN requests is generally increasing, the WG will likely not use any form of the GH project board for now and just consolidate operations around the "open issues" list visible to the entire group; also, we are experimenting with bulk assignments (for efficiency) for the LA Referencia initiative -
Outreach WG
jk: working on youtube channel updates, a best practices draft with recommendations on the spec transition, wikidata recommendations, and mocking up current draft blog posts on the arks.org website; will be looking at polishing the confluence-to-GH wiki conversion (below)

| Discuss working with external organizational structure consultants (review from June) |
Phillips/Kunze |
mp: we've had some contacts with external organizations, Jessica Meyerson, and others; I'm starting to talk with JK about working up a proposal
mp: UNT is willing to be the lead organization for funding, starting with a prospectus and reaching out to funding orgs; aiming to help figure out what makes sense for next 5 years, eg, creating a legal entity
jc: sounds like a great idea to look for funding; but what needs to be funded? the exploration should be very open ended, without presuming, for example, a subscription-based model
mp: we will share what we find with this group and the rest of the ARK Alliance
mk: this is a process I was working on with the BHL, to get funded without a prescriptive plan; consultants can be expensive; this is useful if only to find out which direction to go (it happens that BHL is on hold); it's a worthwhile exercise
mp: as we make progress we will report back
bm: I'd be happy to participate; I was part of samvera going through the same thing

| Draft conversion of Groups documents from Confluence wiki to Github wiki |
Kunze |
jk: after trying a number of tools to convert XML exports of Confluence wiki, the best was an HTML dump converter plus a bunch of scripting; the result is still a work in progress, but with Karen Hanson's help it appears that all the meeting notes have been converted; the NAAN group documents are now under a private repo for the same reason (PII) that the NAAN email list is private

| Plan ARKA Community Call | all |
mp: coming out of an earlier proposal to have an open ARKA Community Call, maybe a zoom call if that makes the most sense; need to decide when and how long; aiming for Fall
jk: are you thinking totally open, or just ARKA working group members
mp: my gut says very broad might be useful
jc: original idea was to get the WGs together, but it could change; if we do a larger event, there's still value I think in a pan-ARKA meeting, so people understand the scope and purpose of the other WGs
mp: I think both purposes might be served in one meeting; we could publicize to the world that this open meeting about ARKA working groups is happening; rather than an external outreach exercise, the initial impetus was so that both internal and external people can better understand how ARKA groups work
mk: there's no perfect time given my BHL experience, but generally speaking, 5-7 am ET works well or 11pm ET; could also do two calls (https://www.explainxkcd.com/wiki/index.php/1335:_Now)
mp: yes, similar to my IIPC experience
jk: maybe we could record it and make it available
mp: my gut feeling is just do one for now, and maybe do a recording, followed by a poll to ask what they would prefer
mp: should we do a vanilla zoom or webinar zoom
jc: recommend regular zoom, with a waiting room to stop zoom bombers
mp: anyone want to volunteer? I'm happy to take the lead; looking at Oct/Nov
jk: could recruit from the WGs

| Discussion of group membership | Phillips |
mp: regarding membership on this group, it might be good to diversify geographically and free up less active members; not enough time to address this topic today
- JK to ask for WG volunteers to plan the Community call
