• rw: could we get calendar help from AI? i've been getting co-pilot to set up stuff for me, eg, gemini for image recognition. You still have to know your stuff.
• kh: agreed, AI is great for experienced professionals; but harder for the less experienced

followup on classic to modern ARKs

• this is the month we said we'd be updating arks.org docs
• volunteers to help editing the web site (github pages)? 🙋‍♂️-dw
• jk: shall we update site pages with modern ARKs but leave past post using classic?
• cm, rw: yes
• dv: btw, pretty soon people won't be able to commit directly to the main branch of arks.org repo due to huge spate of supply chain attacks; going forward, the process for making changes will be via PR
• dv: we don't want to create an impediment, and some ARKA members would likely have sufficient privilege to approve PRs; best to use branch that's not main
• jk: speaking of changes to branches other than main, I've experienced an endless loop where upstream is constantly one commit ahead of downstream or vice vers a; I'll try to reproduce and share it
• dw: i'm willing to get more involved in website editing

N2T resolution stats?

• continuing discussion from last time
  • NAAN stats page features, performance, relation to NAAN search UI
  • coming up with a wishlist that CDL can rank according to difficulty
  • larger changes and feature requests https://github.com/CDLUC3/arks-n2t-roadmap
• dv: n2t logs are internal, in theory we could bubble some of those up; the focus right now is cleaning up loose ends
• dv: helpful when roadmaps items are very specific and detailed, eg, ask for, say, number of hits per NAAN per day
• jk: possible for us to propose PRs for the search UI?
• dv; yes, the UI source under scripts dir
• jk: would like to see the old map.tsv functionality restored; will add to roadmap repo
• dv: private repos won't be able to have public pages, so there will be changes soon and it may be better to wait a bit on PRs

• dv: just submit a two column google sheet using terms from same controlled vocab of new form

Followup on recent URI/ARK hyphen encoding issue

• dv: will be making hyphens configurable per-NAAN; classic vs modern is configurable already via redirect template

    Kagi Assistant’s “Study” mode is interesting, as it is prompted to withhold answers. It keeps asking follow-up questions. Can get annoying of course. 🙂
