- jk: proposing Julien Raemy, former Outreach co-chair, as new member
- kh, dw: second
- ACTION: add Julien to ggroup and calendar invite
- jk: i'd like to call out contributions from the community, maybe with a blog post as well
- dw: don't think it's a good idea to focus too much on individuals because it can detract from the community feeling

| followup on Zulip |
- kh: don't know how widespread it is? is there a way to participate without signing up for a new messaging app?
- dw: can designate public channels that are read-only without signing in; so you can create an account later to participate; you can do email only, read and reply only via email
- jk: similar to google groups?
- dw: yes
- kh: that makes sense to me; being able to see is a good start, and we can create informative links to content from the website
- dw: don't know what terminology to use, maybe have a globe icon; recommend checking in in six months
- jk: I don't care for Slack or Discord; is Zulip slow for anyone else?
- dv: haven't had issues with zulip; suggest diving in and opening up to public sooner than later; goal is to streamline communication
- dw: fine to be bold and say we're trying it out

| replica planning |
- part of general strategy for making ARK infrastructure less dependent on US-based orgs -- replica, NAAN processing
- dw: walk through my proof-of-concept; when you run it
- dv: big thing missing is registry target template containing various properties; the other issue will be having to deal with URL-encoded ids, which is sometimes not helpful; try https://github.com/CDLUC3/resolver as pluggable app, relies on sqlite; no coding needed
- dv: challenge will not be technical, but higher level issues are DNS level naan processing; just needs secret mgmt
- dv: I'm dealing now with big imagery files; tangentially dealing with ARKs; philosophy of identifying everything, so I'm trying to tie in ARKs and suffix passthrough with tiled geospatial datasets
- convert ARK URI registration to modern ARKs
